Get Cheeky

Hi everyone!

Ever wondered how to give your cheeks more definition or add that chisel to your face?

Yes….this post here is just about what is called Contouring!

Contouring is a great technique often used to highlight and emphasize your face features. In this post here, I’m going to show you how to contour your cheeks such that your cheekbones are highlighted and your bone structure immediately looks chiseled.

So what we need is a Contouring/Bronzing powder and an Angled Contouring brush. Here, I’m using a MAC Matte Bronze and a contouring brush also by MAC.

Tip: Pick a bronzer that’s 1-2 shades deeper than your skin tone. Bronzers/ Bronzing powders come in a variety of undertones and hues, so picking the right one is very essential!

Naina3Step 1: Dip the brush in the powder, shake the excess off, and then hit the area, creating a softening effect.

Step 2: Start from the hollow of the cheeks and extend the bronzer up and out towards the temples and into the hairline. Repeat the motion to and fro.You can locate your cheeks hollow easily by sucking in your cheeks.

Step 3: The movement should be very swift so that the brush doesn’t leave a patch on the cheeks.

Step 4: You can apply a shimmery highlighter on top of the cheekbones for an extra punch.

Step 5: Finish the look by applying your favorite blush on the apples of your cheeks and then blend everything together.

If you don’t get it the first time, just keep practicing. Take a picture of yourself before and after to see the difference!

Lastly, put on your best lipstick and eye makeup and you’re good to go!

I’ll be soon coming up with a post on eye makeup too so till then hang on and master the art of contouring.
