For this post, i picked up the topic “Makeup Brushes” so here I am letting you in on few of my favorites…
Makeup brushes are some of my most favorite beauty items to buy. They are so essential for application of flawless makeup. Thankfully, I have found my top favorite brushes which I use for my signature look. If I’m without one of these, I do feel a panic starting to rise in me!
It’s hard enough finding the perfect shade of makeup to make us look our best, but picking the right brush and knowing how to use it is even tougher. I’ve been using MAC brushes for a while now and I love everything about them except the price maybe. They are soft, dry really quick after washing and are just all around great quality brushes.
1. Blush/ Powder Brush
This fluffy brush is used to apply powder blush on the apples of the cheeks & loose or setting powder all over the face after using a foundation.
2. Contouring Brush
The angled contour brush is used to create an angle to softly contour the cheekbone.
(Read Previous post to know more about cheek contouring.)
3. Stippling Brush
Also known as the duo fibre brush, this one is perfect for blending any foundation, blush or powder.
4. Foundation Brush
This flat brush is used to apply liquid or cream foundation for full coverage. Those who are new to makeup can use a sponge instead, for the same.
5. Blending Brushes
These are the must-have brushes for any eye makeup. In fact, these babies are the secret of my signature smokey eye look.
[(L-R) MAC 219, MAC 217]
The one on the left is a dome brush or pencil brush mainly used for creating a smokey eye. It can also be used to highlight inner corner of the eyes.
6. Eyeliner Brush
This brush is used to apply gel liner and get the perfect winged look. It is a small flat angular brush.
7. Angular Brush for Eye Brows
It is a big flat angular brush mainly used for filling in eye brows with powder eye shadow and giving them the desired shape.

Lastly, you can always supplement the basic brushes with sponges, sponge-tipped applicators, and even cotton swabs.
Since the makeup brushes don’t come cheap, they will need to be taken care of and cleaned at least once in two weeks.
Soon I’ll be coming up with a post on how to clean your makeup brushes so till then keep reading and feel free to ask in case of any queries.
