I’m back with a quick roundup of Day 2 at Amazon India Fashion Week. The second day of the premier fashion gala saw some eminent designers showcasing their work of art.

The day began with Kanika Saluja’s Anaikka which represented the Victorian era with its vintage designs and lace, leather and herringbone details. Shriya Saran stunned the audience when she walked the ramp as the showstopper in a black and gold sari, wearing a huge metallic cast headgear.
Virtues by Viral, Ashish & Vikrant
Titled ‘From Gujarat with Love’, Virtues by Viral, Ashish & Vikrant was not only visually appealing, but culturally moving too. Various geometrical shapes and edgy jewelry donned their creations.
Certainly one of my favorites from Day 2, Rimzim Dadu’s collection experimented with metal wires, faux leather and few other new fabrics. The sari pallus and electric blue shirts resembled moulded abstract forms and had a bit of 3D applique work in action there.
A lot was expected from Dhruv Kapoor’s show and he clearly surpassed all expectations. His Autumn/Winter collection was a blend of sports-luxe, his signature, with elements of evening wear. The color palette was synonymous to the season with blues, mustards, blacks and maroons taking prominence among other hues like oranges and whites.
Slick hair, glasses, minimal accessories and graded lips set his models apart from the rest and kept everyone’s eyeballs glued to them.

Samant Chauhan’s collection ‘Silk Route‘ included ensembles in earthy and rustic colors with a lot of zari and dori work on them. From the snowfall on the ramp to the designs, everything about his show was highly appealing.
Malini Ramani’s collection Supernova was a treat to watch. The use of peacock motifs and gold embroidery on outfits ranging from saris and tunics to pleated pants and dhotis brought the whole collection to life.
Having Sufi tracks like Kun Faaya Kun being played in the background, Nikasha’s show was a soother to many. Romancing the tribal styles, she gave a makeover to embroidered ethnics including saris, dhoti pants, tunics, shirts and skirts.
Anita Dongre Grassroot
Dominated by deep prints and hues, Anita Dongre’s collection Earth Song was inspired by the nature and played through shirt dresses, jumpsuits, wraps and jackets, pallazos and trousers. The beautiful blend of prints and comforting contemporary fabrics, made the whole collection look very elegant and wearable.
Rajesh Pratap Singh
Day 2 ended with Rajesh Pratap Singh’s metallic glamour wherein his ensembles reflected the warmth of molten gold. From the fabrics to the makeup, everything about this show was glamorous.
The second day of Amazon India Fashion Week was nothing but a sheer display of creativity. Stay tuned for more from Day 3. 😀
Much Love ❤
