I’m so glad winter is finally over! Yes Spring is here which means its time to push the heavier clothing to one side of the closet and make way for lighter, and perhaps bolder coloured fabrics. There’s a variety of spring wardrobe basics that one should own this year. These basics should be used as building blocks to a functional style. With that in mind, I’ve figured out a way to get a head start on your spring-summer outfit planning. How? By starting with the easiest, throw-and-go pieces you know you’ll wear over and over again. After all, one of the best things about warmer weather is not having to layer up before you leave the house; just grab any of the 5 staples ahead and you’re ready to walk out the door.

 

1. Mules

From Chanel’s two-tone version to Gucci’s fur-lined slip-ons, mules enjoyed a huge resurgence last summer. And there’s no denying that this backless shoe is already proving to be just as popular this year. Mules are practically everywhere. And why not? With walkable block heels, chic crisscross bodies, and a bright crop of colors, they’re so much cooler than the clogs from your childhood.

Yes they are back and even bigger than ever. Fashion’s ongoing love affair with floral prints continues for Spring 2017 with a myriad of designers offering up their take on the iconic pattern. If you don’t already have a denim shirt or jacket, go and pick one up. Seriously. Do it now. Pink is hot this spring.
