Tis the season for travel! 😀
Whether you’re planning a quick weekend getaway or travelling farther afield, deciding what makeup to take with you and how best to pack it, can prove challenging. So today in this post, I’m going to share with you how I usually pack my makeup and what makeup essentials you should carry on your next trip.
So whenever I’m traveling by air, I make sure my makeup is in my check-in baggage so that I’m free of any kind of flight restrictions. Of course, my compact, kohl and lipstick are always with me in my handbag just in case I need to freshen up.
What to Pack?
Whether you love makeup or not, its essential that you carry only the necessities as you obviously, can’t fit your entire vanity kit in your travel bag. But that does not mean you say bon voyage to looking your best. Travel light and still feel like you have all your makeup needs on hand with this checklist of what to stow when you’re on the go.
- Foundation/BB cream
- Setting powder/ Compact
- Blush + Contour Palette / 2 Blushers & Bronzer
- Eye brow pencil
- Eyeshadow primer
- Versatile Eye shadow palette
- Lipsticks (as per your outfits)
- Makeup Remover & Wipes
- Lip balm
- Makeup Brushes
- Beauty Blender/Sponge
Try and pick multi-purpose beauty products if you’re short on space. Like a pale, shimmery eyeshadow works beautifully as a highlighter, a cream blush can be used as a lip or eye colour, and a lipstick can be blended out as a cheek stain.
Which Makeup Brushes to Pack?
While some of us who use brushes regularly are quite confident about which brushes to pack, I’m sure there are many of you who get confused at this point and can’t decide what to take and what not to take.
Here are a few brushes that I feel you should carry:
- Powder brush
- Contour Brush
- Eye brow brush
- Buffing Brush
- Eye makeup brushes
- Fan Brush
That being said, you can always go brush-less if you’re good with your fingers or makeup sponges.
How to Pack?
I suggest you take two makeup pouches that are neither too big nor too small. If you find one with inner compartments, great!
Put all the makeup products in one bag and brushes in the other bag. This will keep the brushes clean, separated and intact. The perishable items should be stored in a zip pouch to avoid any leakage.
Now place the two pouches in your suitcase either in between the clothes or with stuffing around them to reduce any kind of movement and Ta Da!! You’re done.
