5 On-The-Road Skin Care Tips for Your Winter Travels

Keeping up with skin care on the road may seem difficult, but taking care of your skin on your winter travels is essential for ensuring your skin stays hydrated, happy and radiant!

We understand that you don’t want to lug around a hefty cosmetics case, overflowing with a multitude of products that will just take up extra space, so in this article we’ll share some simple tips and multipurpose ways to use your products so you can keep your skin looking its healthiest best as you go on your winter adventures!

Give your toner some extra credit

Toners are super underrated, but they do so much more than simply balance the skin’s pH levels.

Toners help to refine the pores, add hydration and infuse the skin with nutrients, as long as you’re using an organic toner, of course!

Instead of just applying your toner after cleansing your skin, why not try spritzing it over your makeup to set it for the day, or simply treat your skin to a spritz anytime it needs a refreshing boost!

Don’t forget the sunscreen

Sunscreen is absolutely essential all year long, even in winter on cloudy days when the UV rays can still do damage to your skin.

Always be sure to use a natural, mineral-based SPF of at least 30 on all exposed areas of skin every time you know you’ll be outdoors. Make this a daily habit for skin that stays youthful and healthy.

Stay hydrated from the inside out

Hydrated skin is key to youthful skin, but no amount of hydrating products will do the job if you aren’t keeping your insides hydrated too.

Drinking at least two liters of water a day is important, however we know it can be tricky when the temperatures are icy.

Make sure you pack a hot thermos on the road, that you can easily refill at your pit stops and fill it with healthy, herbal teas to keep you hydrated, as well as to warm your chilly bones.

Ditch the drying makeup wipes

Makeup wipes have got to go!

Those conventional brand ones are packed in drying ingredients that strip the skin of beneficial oils and may damage your skin’s delicate microbiome.

Instead, use an oil-based cleanser as a natural makeup remover to remove dirt and grime, because oil-based cleansers will not strip your skin of necessary oils, helping to keep it perfectly balanced.

In the morning we recommend letting your toner double up as a cleanser to gently clean your skin by applying some to a cotton pad and wiping your face clean before applying your lotion or oil.

Treat your skin to a dose of antioxidants

If there’s just one product we recommend you add into your beauty bag on your travels, it’s a good quality Vitamin C serum.

A Vitamin C serum will treat your skin to that moisture it craves, while reducing inflammation, brightening the skin and even boosting collagen for plumper, firmer skin.

We hope you find these tips super easy to incorporate into your travels! Stay safe on the road and make lots of memories!
